Grrr, after the drags the other day i have noticed the immense amount of heat marks on my dba vented front rotors :( pissed off cos thats the pads the shop suggested.
Is anyone using Green Stuff pads? i have a track day on the 11th and want pads that are actually going to stop me and not fuxor my rotors

You cant have both unfortunatley mate. the better the pad the harder it is on the rotor.
The ferodo is probably a slightly better pad than a green stuff.
The only pad that I have found to be OK on rotors and work well is eligs but they wear so fast on the track, I kill a set in one track day(going hard though)

Whats a "ferodo ultimate" lol? Bendix do ultimate. Ferodo do the 'DS performance' pads as a street/race pad, then the higher DS series for racing, then excels, advance, target, zero, as the cheaper ones

Hot tip, don't use Hawk Blue pads, if rotor wear is an issue. However if want to stop brutally fast on track they are epic.

umm i swear box said ferodo ultimate..its was a grey and white box..either way they are shit...at the braking area of the drags i was getting shudder real bad :(

link to said elig's?

If you're getting shudder your rotors are likely warped. If they are new its likely form not installing correct (not cleaning the hub surface) or running them in too hard.
Braking at the end of the drags shouldn’t be ruining your brakes. Hard street driving would put more stress on them. You want to get it the rotor skimmed flat (check the thickness) before heading to the track along with better pads.

Don't know about long term, as I've only had them on about 1000km, but EBC Yellowstuff are spectacular (rec. by EBC for both street and light track use). My HSG-R wears them on all four (DP4954R front, DP4738R rear), and the regular braking performance improved markedly (not just in distance, but more importantly in stability and control), even during the bedding period.

The real test was just today however: I was "obliged" to do some serious emergency braking in a seriously tight and short space (you know how it is with these 4G63Ts), and the HSG-R "obliged" in return by executing a perfectly controlled stop - no drama apart from a little bit of tyre squeal; straight, precise, and short. I imagine that this kind of performance will cost on rotor life, but will have to report back later on that. Okay, that's my plug for Yellowstuff.

I have used ebc red and they got way to hot and cracked up. i now use ebc yellow and i get them from england. you can get front and rear posted for the price of just fronts in australia . worth looking into if you want ebc
