My near new RPM HD is slipping with the new power, it's the strongest clutch they make. Exedy are rubbish as of the past few years, was looking at possibly an Extreme but haven't heard a lot about them.
Needs to handle 240kwatw+ as I know there's more in the engine and don't want to have to do another clutch if I decide to push for more power in the future. Ideally don't want anything that'll rattle and shudder or be a biatch to drive.
Recommendations?

Not sure about the actual clutch plates, but i've been using Extreme pressure plates with exedy plates with some success, if that helps.

Thanks Marc, that's good to know, my last Exedy was great but that was a while ago now and everyone seems to bag them out now.

Nope evo clutches fit I'm running one now

Fly wheels are different specificly the engine conection bit

But there's also crazy mofos that have run an adaptor and custom bolts to run evo flys

But the presure plate and clutch disk are the same

My 93t is around the 330kw at all 4 and have got jim berry to make up a custom clutch to suit that power. Haven't ran the car yet so can't say much about it but there's alot of people that swear by them

What sort of $$ did you pay for the Jim Berry?

I've got a contact locally who may be able to build me something to suit - that was my other option.

Just had a look at the Xtreme 6 puck and they are around $800!

That's what I thought!

I should probably be basing my searches on CC GSR clutches then as the GTi upgrades are all based on N/A "performance".

K says you can adapt them...I dont know. But I do know that the 7 bolt 63 flywheel has a different pcd for the locating lug. And maybe very slight difference to the bolt hole diameter, compared to the 93. But im pretty sure even if you chose a gsr flywheel and evo pressure plate, the pressure plate hits the inside of bellhousing. This has been mentioned heaps of times.

I dont know if you can change from the 215mm plate to the 225mm plate? (Or whatever they are)
And I would think you may be able to run a pressure plate to suit a cb gsr turbo, or something from the states to suit a turbo fwd eclipse or talon.

If so, you need to find out if your pressure plate fits the larger flywheels of the turbo fwd. Im pretty sure I have the same flywheel here on a fwd sonata engine. It has a pp and clutch plate, but I dont have a small flywheel/or pressure plate to see if they bolt on to the bigger flywheel.
I can measure if you need.
There is recent thread about this in a cb gsr turbo.

oh if you using a fwd box then nah not gonna work sorry i assumed 93t = awd. the awd 93t fly takes the same clutches as evo

whether these fit into the fwd box/bell housing i wouldn't know. never actually tried. my recommendations would stem down to cushion button style 5-6-8 puck clutches with a mildly heavy pressure plate

fwd clutch specs
flywheel profile flat
size 215mm
spline od 22.4
splines 20

awd clutch specs
flywheel profile stepped (-15.5mm)
size 225mm
spline od 22.4
splines 20

honestly couldn't tell you but i have done some research and believe a awd 225mm clutch disk will fit onto a fwd fly and pressure plate.

this isn't of much use since if the pressure plate can't exert enough force a good clutch disk means nothing. but a larger disk will help with holding power. i have also read multiple account of pucked clutches requiring less clamping force than full faced organics

I can't find my old pressure plate amongst the mess in my shed or I could tell you what size it is. Managed to find the clutch plate though, will measure it over the weekend.
Would there be any benefit in running a 6 puck plate like this one on my current heavy duty pressure plate, or would the pressure plate collapse under load?

I might look into getting something custom made to suit - pressure plate and clutch plate.

I had a 6 puk in my wrx and it would slip in 4th. The clutch guy said it would grip better if it had less pucks, like a 4puk. But it would be grabbier.
There must be a balance between puk area and pressure plate pressures. I dont know what that relationship is.

My 2nd HD clutch was a Jim Berry special and it cost just on a grand delivered with me sending him an old clutch in return.
3000LB Button clutch with carbotic disc and unsprung.
Great at the strip but crap for an everyday driver.
Seeing as though Ive sent the car down the strip so many times the clutch did its job well!
After that clutch was done I got a 3500LB carbotic clutch with sprung centre (which is better for an everyday driver) from NPC and cost $678 delivered!
