blown gear box

Ah so you've only got a box full of neutrals? Hard to say, either way you'll be up for quite a bit of money. Best to have it looked at by someone first to determine whether it'll be better to repair or replace.

It wont go into gears? Or does it go in then pop out? :)

By the way, how did you take off from the lights?

Jesus its expensive over there...

I had my Evo2 RS box rebuilt, cost me just under 2g :) ... If you have the cash i say rebuild it, that way you know your gearbox is pretty much brand new. I've had heaps of trouble buying second hand gearboxes over here (might be different over the lake). :)

Who can guarantee against abuse ! ( Not this little black duck)
Standard boxes are pretty strong used correctly. Keep in mind that they are starting to get old and fatigue will start to show. ( like someone else I know)

No point having a Dogbox unless your making some big numbers on the dyno or your like rallying or something IMO

Stick with a standard box man, If its your daily driver keep it easy to drive. If not then by all means get something more durable :)

Maybe ask meek what it will cost to get it rebuilt to evo3 synchro spec?

And yes.. PPG is for those people where price is secondary to performance. I'd have one.. mm..

And don't dog boxes NEED to be abused? I guess it's worth the money if you're racing it all the time, but if it's your daily driver and it has to get you to work etc... you can't be doing high RPM 2nd/3rd shifts in peak hour traffic.
