blue cards and red cards?

im in the process of applying for jobs in oz as i will be heading over in the next few months,most of the adds have a requirement of holding a red card or blue card,can someone tell me what these are? are they qualification levels?

I am pretty sure you need a blue card if you are going to be working with kids.
Not sure on the red card though.

Red Card or Red Ticket..

is a card that states you have done a course in the risks with working on a building site or union site.. most sites now adays require you have to have a red card to get inducted into the job site where you can work.

you have go to this course then pass a test.. fairly straight forward..

ive had mine for many years now..

on the money just a one day oh $ s course allows u on commercial job sites

In NZ its OSH.

In Queensland, we have a blue card for construction sites, just to be different.

however you can work in qld if you have done the OHS and hve a red card... i did for a year and abit.
