anyone got any good recommendations for a dual stage? perferably electronic, as long as it holds boost fine!

I have heard different things about each so id thought i'll see what others use

How much do you want to spend?

Does it have to be electronic? not happy with a manual controller bleed setup?

AVC-r has come up trumps in every review as the best boost controller on the market.. But you also pay for that.

people who run full stand alone m800 motec still use avcr over the motec.

they work very well when they are set up...but im pretty sure they are around $600

or get a manual turbotech for $30 odd that will spike a bit but does a pretty good job

For the money I'm going to +3 and +4 and +5 on the AVCR.... for my brother, a couple of my mate's cars and soon to be my own car too. That's the only boost controller I would install in people's cars now because we've never had any trouble with them and they work great - I honestly dont think you can buy better for the money!!! :) Plus I have never heard of one failing yet :)

I have also had 3 well known 4G63 tuners advise me to stick with the AVCR instead of the aftermarket ECU's optional EBC :)

Greedy Profec B SpecII is what alot of my mates and I run
1: price 2: work very well.(*once set up correctly)
they are the pro's

For the cons I find EBC's a bastard to set up dial in anyways.

It helps if you have others around you that know the one you buy inside out & how they work and are good at setting them up.

*IMHO. Ebc's aren't the easiest of electronic gadgets to set up and understand its parameters.

I'd rather run a TD06 20G with a turbotech controller, than run a TD05 16G with an AVCR

Big price differences

$600 vs $30

+1 Greedy Profec B SpecII

had it my last car will be running it in my gsr, once setup properly its awesome i guess thats the way with all ebc,

yeh i got a profec...its awesome but ill be honest i have no idea how to use it.....i think there way more confusing then they should be....why cant i just dial in what psi im wanting damnit!!

If you're gonna use an eboost, make sure you use the eboost2, they're far better than the earlier ones. I haven't used one personally, but their configuration abilities seem head and shoulders above it's competitiors.

In the past, I've had and seen good success with the blitz dual solenoid controllers, but as far as bang for your buck goes, use a bleed good valve. Provided you install it properly you won't have problems with boost creep, etc.

The advantage of the electronic controllers is that they can show the wastegate no pressure until target boost is reached, bringing boost on faster by not having the waste gate open prematurely. In practice, it's only 2-300 rpm, so if that's worth the $500 premium for you, go right ahead.

I personally don't believe in multi-stage boost controllers. Your right foot is the best boost controller around .. if you don't want full boost, don't put it all the way down

I've always used the AVC-R and has worked a treat for me
otherwise i would use the HKS EVC Version 6, or the EBOOST 2

I guess it also depends whether your turbo is internally or externally gated; that can decide how well your EBC can control boost. The boost of my internally gated E3/20G fluctuates from time to time on the same boost setting. I find that on colder nights, I have to reduce the duty cycle on the AVC-R as it will automatically produce more boost in kinder conditions. I assume that is the case with all EBC's....

turbo is standard TD05, apexi seems like a winner here. A few mates were running the older Evc 3's and they were pleased. especially for the prices you can pick them up for under 200. How many people on here run manual ones?

i do. the turbotech ones from ebay
has been PERFECTLY stable in holding 20psi

one of the best purchases ive made

in the past ive run another manual one which was shthouse..

i wouldnt go past turbotech
