Is anyone running stock IC piping and a type 2?

It hits the rad fan...

Wil the car run ok with only one fan??

i errr...think it was leaking err....

Come on i ahve to have one wanky thing on my car.

Where do i get davies craig gear?
does somewhere like supershit have it?

Should my car be ok fro a couple of days with only one fan on the radiator?

Especially seeing as its winter and i live in canb :p

twist the pipe around and mount it differently. Cable tie it up, whatever. Make sure you keep both fans. This is most important after flogging it a bit :p

you can get davies craig fans anywhere, autobarn, etc.
but yeah, what lorrie said, unclamp the metal pipe and twist it around so the BOV is pointing upwards.
either that or try trimming a bit off ur fan... take to it with a file or something. (the frame that holds the fan, not the fan itself)
or get a GFB BOV, mine fits no probs :p

ok well i took the fan off to mount it. so much room when you dont have a fan :p

Its err very loud.

By making it harder does it make it quieter?

And what is the model number of the davies craig fan i want? do they come as a pair?

Move the BOV. Can't beat OEM quality for fans. Seriously.

If you stiffen the spring it'll just take more pressure to make it vent and will flutter more. The volume of it is just the volume of it :p

but it bolts onto the metal pipe that runs to the ic, it doesnt budge does it?? I will ahve another look

Ok i had a look but its not going to be able to move the right way,

So back to the orginal question which davies craig fan?
The closet thing is
GALANT GSR 88-95

will that fit?

and am i right in thinkning davies craig are slimmer then ur standard fans?

Cheers
Cade

If you had to go slimmer, how much slimmer do you need to go to clear it and then don't forget to add a little extra for movement under vibration/bumps/etc. I don't think a fan's going to fix this problem, I think you'll need new piping.

yeah i definately need new piping, but to get that i will need to get a new intercooler...

the DCs come in 2 sizes according to the website if i am reading correctly.

one is 64mm deep the other is 76, the stock one is aobut 130. 76 will be just touching i think...

plus mounting distance... etc.

Also, the JSPEC cooler is fine for nearly 300kw. Just get the holesaw out and change the openings to 63 or 70mm (whatever your'e goign for pipework) and tigweld them on. Significantly cheaper than a new cooler and you retain stock mounts/etc.

Guys in the US are running down into the 11s with a jspec cooler with this mod so unless you're planning to hit 10's I don't see why you'd bother getting some giant hybrid cooler.

coz im a big gurl.

I dont like being able to see the piping throught he grill.

I measured the grill at 800mm. Can you get 800mm long ICs and would that fit behind the bumper??

This seems like it might need to be a custom job...if it is possible :?

dude, no point putting a big ass mofo intercooler in there, u will get so much lag, and u may find that it starts to overheat coz u are loosing lots of flow to your radiator, ask crossam, he used to have a cooler that filled the bar, and now he has a 600*300 and thinks it is 100000000000 times better

dont bother changing the fan unless you REALLY need to- i.e you have a big fark off turbo.

They are expensive, and you can use the money elsewhere.

oh yeah, and its a complete waste of time just to buy/mount/wire one up just for the sake of a b.o.v.

why does your b.o.v even come close to your fan? if must be pretty damn big??

Can you guys plz resize your pics before posting - ok you have a 5000 megapixel camera but its very frustrating when trying to read posts and understand what you are talking about....

800x600 or smaller is usually pretty good.

Thanks
