braided lines

hey guys,

i'm trying to put the fittings on my braided lines and i'm about to throw them in the bin!

I keep cutting myself with the stupid things when I'm trying to get the "collar" of my -an fittings onto the hose.

Is there an easy way to do this?

If there is, I'd love to know

You are taping up the ends of the hose before you cut it aren't you Matt?

the lines have already been cut to size

the collar is the same diameter, maybe even slightly smallr than the hose so im having a tough time getting it on

Are you wrapping tape around them still?

yeah, i did, but how do you get the tape off once the hose is inserted into the collar?

my hose will only go onto the fitting about 10-15mm before it hits the thread for the barb

I just used electrical tape and pulled it out gently once I had the fitting all tightened up.
I don't recall just how far the hose should push on before you tighten it up.
Barry should know that one :wink:
