Ok guys

Ive been looking into new new calipers(front) for my evo 3 .

apparently endless(4 pot) make the whole kit and kaboodle bolt on for $2990.

Then you have K SPORT(6 pot). made for a eclipse which sell for $2090.
whole kit again.

Then im stuck with buying some evo 6 brembo's and finding all the rest of the parts to make them fit under my 17in wheels. for about $2000.

Then you have AP. (who make K SPORT). waiting on a reply from a guy on these.

Have any of you delt with these brakes. or know the way to go about this.

Regards

Lyle

AP don't make Ksport

Ksport calipers just use the same pads

The Endless kits don't use a larger rotor if i remember correctly.

Go to racebrakes (or an equivalent brake shop in nsw) or UAS even and get them to design you a 330mm 4 pot front kit with two piece rotors

Hey Lyle,

You could also contact these guys here in Perth who are selling these brake kits, not sure if they suit your application (sounds like a race set up) but could be worth it for a street car.

GTO/3000GT 4-piston Calipers (Pair)
Adaptor brackets to suit Lancer hubs
296mm Slotted Rotors
Performance Brake Pads

I paid 100 for a pair of fully reco'ed GTO calipers. Just waiting on brackets for the VR4 then going to 17x8's to fit them behind.

Will see how it all pans out.

Wonder if the brackets from tenaga will fit a vr4 as well? Anyone know?

i want the brake upgrade but dont want to change from my 16" as i have my semi's on them.

also E3 unless you are going to change your mags need to stay with 4/114.3 PCD as most of the upgrades i've seen move you to the EVO 56789 with 5 stud hubs.

So i think i'll stay with the 2 spot cals and evo sized rotors, but fit Endless CCX pads and RF650 brake fluid. worked great on the GSR brakes.

Jet - if you want to stay 16" have a think about E4 rotors.

The E4 used the same caliper as the E3, but with a slightly larger rotor (297mm I think), and came with 16" wheels. DBA can supply blank rotors that you can drill with your own stud pattern.

You'll need a custom bracket to space the calipers out which is where there might be a problem - the caliper might not come out far enough from the hub to get a bracket in there properly, but when I was looking at doing this, I was assured it'd be possible. In the end I decided I was going to get something a little more serious later so didn't pursue it - might be something to look into if you want to go larger than the evo/vr4 upgrade.

Actually, out of interest - has anyone fitted late model evo brakes (ie, brembos) to their gsr?

How much clearance do you need to the inside of the rim face (like, the spokes of the wheel or whatever)?

I've seen it done on a VR4, and on an early model evo
in japan theres a company that makes brackets for them

as for wheel spacing, as te37s will clear, avs6 will clear

no idea... this provides fitment idea's, although they do not end up showing their bracket they they made...

Entaran, - the brake mounting is the same for VR4/GSR/evo, just the brake lines differ (one is banjo, one is screw fit from memory)

The GTO calipers seem like good value. I've seen them sell on Ebay for about $200 for the set. It's interesting that the NZ link says he needs spacers - I thought they fitted up to the standard hardware without a problem. Maybe it was just to clear the wheels?

Yeah, he needed spacers to clear his weels

If you look closely though, he isn't using hubcentric spacers, so all the weight is on the studs

I've heard the dynalite calipers are pretty shit house as they have a lot of flex in them, though I have no first hand experience.

Also, if that's the same kit I checked out a while back, the rotors they supply are actually thinner (and it was a decent amount too) than the stock GSR rotors.

we use the dyna lights on an rx7 dirt rally car with good results,

we run evo 2 276mm rotors with the dynalights and they have
given us no issues at all over 2 seasons without service.

imho very good value for money, (the calipers anyway).

and you can always just buy the calipers and get brackets made up

Yeah, they did seem very good value, at around $1000 USD for the kit. I was told to steer clear because of the issues with them, but if you're finding they hold up in a competition environment, it might be worth looking into again.
