Does anyone know of a brake upgrade for a CE Lancer sedan but keeping the 4 stud hubs??
I've done minor engine work, but the brakes don't cut it anymore.

I have gone through a lot of the brake forums, but there is nothing for a CE.

Any help would be great!!

Depends if you want to keep the 4x100 stud pattern or not. If so, you can put Proton M21 front caliper and rotor setup up front as a direct swap, they are identical to GSR turbo calipers and rotor size, but they are 4x100 not the GSR 4x114.3 stud pattern. To replace your rear drum brakes get the Proton M21 coupe rear disc brake setup, however I cant guarantee if the hand brake cables are correct size or not. If not you may have to get the cables off a GSR or EVO. Also check if the Proton Wira had rear disc brakes and you can get them from one of them too. I think your standard brake master cylinder is 7/8" so you would technically want to upgrade to the 1" master cylinder from the Proton as well.

The next step up from the above would be upgrading to EVO 1-4/ VR4 twin pot calipers but you wont find matching rotors to suit in a 4x100 pattern.

Another place you could ask is http://www.miragelancer.com/forums/ as there would be several CE Lancers and Mirages converted with turbos who would have done brake upgrades and steer you in the right direction.

OK for rear disk upgrades. Porton Satria GTi, or m21 coupe. you must use the handbrake cable too. For fronts, as EVO OOX said, gsr/m21 calipers with m21/ gti satria disks. Bigger booster and master cylinder are required if you do both. For big upgrade, Evo1-3, fto disks redrrilled to 4x100. With Fto calipers. Will need Evo 1-3 master cylinder and booster. There is another option, You can do a complete 5 stud conversion by using all fto hubs, trailing arms, booster, master. However ont he fornt you will to add a set of camber bolts to make alignment correct.

Are the m21 calipers an easy fit onto the lancer or do they require the m21 mounting brakets as well?

I am able to get some Proton R3 brakes from a mate in malaysia, but am still finding out about the calipers.

Cheers for the help.
