Well, your car is a facelift VR4 which means it has twin pot front brakes, which are already a step up from the pre-facelifts, i'd suggest some slotted front discs and some upgaded pads like EBC greenstuffs, like what I have on my car, works a treat!

HERE is the the DBA (disc brakes Australia) catalouge

and

HERE is the EBC site

+1 on the dba rotors. don't go cross drilled though.

i've got racebrakes RB75's or something pads. really good brakes. but if you're doing a lot of driving around town they do tend to glaze over.

not sure if you know montacute road mate, but usually a real hard push down there (giving them HEAPS of shit) will clean them up :D

i use the rda slotted rotors on my car - and are doing well
ebc pads are good value for money - had almost the whole range of ebc pads in the car
greens
reds
just about to fit yellows -
greens are a good all round brake pad

What do you use the car for, normal road use, road use with the ocasional spirited drive/ sprint day, or competition. (No point spending over $100 for front pads if its only for road use).

Don't forget to bleed the brake fluid.

I have rda slotted discs up front with ferodo ds2500 pads Std pads and discs in the back). For the type of semi competition (tarmac rallies, autocross etc) that i do, they are great (and I haven't been able to properly bed the pads in yet) but the pads don't heat up enough when driving on the road.

All pads produce dust. The better the pad, the more the dust. The dust tells you they are working.

Get massive thin-spoke rims to let the dust goto the air rather than your rims if you're really worried.

I have RDA Slotted rotors up front and back
Twinspots from a KR Verada (same as aspec slightly larger pistons)
Ferodo pads up front
EBC Blackstuff down rear

Car pulls up like a charm.

I think the whole setup cost me about 700 dollars shipped.

BRAKES

EBC BRAKE PADS TEND TO HAVE A LIGHTER DUST - ALMOST WHITE, TAKES AT LOT LONGER TO DIRTY THER WHEELS

Finished bedding in the brakes today.

When I get the pads upto temperature, the bastard almost threw me through the windscreen. Sooooo not used to pulling up this fast :/

Do not wouse out on the brake fluid!! I have just the standard GSR caliper with a slotted rotor, I run endless CCX pads on the front a QFM premium on rear and endless RF65 brake fluid, and i can stop better that most 4 spot equiped cars and the rotor looks like a 20 cent piece by comparison, The best mod i did for the brakes was the fluid, Who would of thought that it would make such a difference, this was B4 i run the slotted and CCX's

Now i have the 2ltr in I will install the evo brakes so things should get better again, But i have noticed a lot of you do run the EBC I know they would be a damb sight cheaper than my Endless CCX's
