brisbane tuners who do ecm?

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

count me in, ecm link v3 lite, running sd and eflex fuel
If only I had Eflex up here, would like to get on the sugar juice. Closest we have is the United 100, but cant confirm how fresh each batch in Gladstone is, so it the easy available BP98 for me.

Jono I don't mean to sound rude and you can do what you like regardless but I think you should get the car running properly on normal fuel first, then go SD, then Ethanol. Otherwise you're just throwing more variables into a car that's never run right since the conversion.

I wish I had my aspec going. Not wanting to play with the rs yet until I have a spare car , just in case it breaks. Maybe next year I will fit an ecmlink to it.

I might try to come for a couple hours and have a peek.

What time re you thinking of getting started in the morn.

Yea i know, I don't think i'll go that far to ethanol since Anji wants to road trip to Melbourne at some point next year. There's enough variables on it as it is. Like most its spend more time in the garage than on the road. Sick of riding atm

i wouldnt drive it to melb dude, our cars arnt reliable at the best of times! haha ive got a few dramas with mine atm and its not fun! lol

I told her i ain't driving down till i know it can physical can and she fully understands why haha. I dont think the drama will ever end...

hell if i could get my hands on an evo afm injectors and an ecm link ecu I'd be up for this. but alas even if was only for the day so that I'd have the files on hand for when i actually have the stuff

Maybe the lack of firm details on date, number of cars to attend, exact hour rate etc might be making people hesitant?
More might commit with firm details.
Of course you can only tune a small number of cars in a day anyway.

Saturday the 6th Oct, 10am-4pm. Its the only date I was at this stage to get from Vonney. It will be on the Tripple 9 dyno.
Ive asked for another day for which to tune other cars that miss out or expressed interest as Vonney already has 2 other cars to tune and limited time for dyno time on a Saturday(his day off).
Price is $150/hr.
Ive PM'd nigel_a to confirm your still interested.
There may be time at the end of the day for another but cant confirm if/how long due the uncertain nature of tuning. But fell free if you like to come down and have a chat with Vonney afterwards the other cars are done.

If anyone is interested in a tune as a group 2-3(possibly 4). Let me know a couple of dates, and I'll pass it onto Vonney.

Hiring a dyno, how easy is it operate and not waste time figuring out how to use it?
Im used to street tuning the ecmlink. Ive thought about it to dial my cams in (especialy on the new motor in the future) and experiment with differnt slightly differnt afr's.
I have an idea of what works from the data on the street just though it'd be interesting to run a few differnt tunes on the dyno.

There isnt many dyno owners that will hire out a dyno without adequate training/qualifications to fulfil theier insurnace obligations. Some places will sit in your car and do the strapping/operating/driving and you tune, but from what I believe its the same price as a tune due the labour.
There is a course that DynoDynamics runs for the owner/operator, from memory its a pre-requisit for dyno-equip warranty.

The guy who bought my old VR4 is interested. Please let me know if/when there is another chance so I can get him in.

Gerard, how do you plan to dial your cams in on the road? What will you use to read the engine output?
I was thinking of doing the same but I think dyno would be the only definitive way.

Virtual dyno.. Great program. .. Just harder to do, takes longer and may cost you your licence/life. Uses logs and gives you a simulated dyno graph.

I tune cruise/ low rpm (below 5k) on the road. I leave high rpm/speed stuff on the dyno. Other things like idle, compensations, enrichment, decel etc can be done safely on the street. Probably better on the street than dyno.

In my opinion,
If in doubt, ask / learn and apply OR pay somebody who knows what they are doing to tune it.
