Looking at buying a GSR,
Concern 1.
Driving along, and out of no where it developed a miss fire, got back to the guys house and a pin in the aftermarket ecu wiring harness was loose. Put it back in, restarted the car but it was still running rough. The current owner has had the engine cleaned injectors new coil packs. (the owner also changes from stock ecu and aftermarket from time to time) Whats going on?

Concern 2.
Two different rattles, One on the drivers side near the pedals and the other in the head of the engine. Sounds like the lifters or something of that nature.

Anybody had any of these problems or know anything that can help me out? Thanks heaps.

my mate has a jdm gsr fs. if you're interested, pm me.. it'll solve both your problems.

1/ car could still be in need of some tuning... hopefully an hour or tweo on the dyno will sort all of that out...

2/ lifters are a common problem on the 4g93t... upgrade to some 3G lifters for just over 200 dorrahs and an hour or two of your time...

Definitely look for roof rust or signs of repair for roof rust. If there is a bubble or two it's too late and you will have a fair bit coming through in no time at all.

As above or just join http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/gsr_evo/

Its free :D go to the files section and download the gsr evo buyers guide
a detailed what to look for when buying a gsr / evo all the info is in there just having the time to obsorb it all is the question.

A gsr that the previous owner swaps from stock to piggy back or aftermarket computer  I'd stay well clear  seen to many of these bodged up gsr's just get worse especially when new owner comes into possesion of them. be warned.

There are pleanty of very nice stock gsr's out there just dont rush and a good one will come your way.
