I just got my calipers back from being rebuilt but they didn't bolt them all together.

Where does the slide bolt with the little rubber grommet go?

Top or bottom of the caliper?

Notice the Rubber grommet on the end of one of the bolts. This is to attach the caliper to the holding bracket on the hub.

sorry mate i thought i had one in the shed but i dont

i think you will find the bottom one has the slide and the top
one is a bolt, but its been to long im sorry.

I found the pages i printed out from the service manual pdf file, when i did mine.
They have it pictured with the bolt with the rubber sleave on the top.

Its section 35-104 in the vr4 manual. Look at parts 2 and 3, on the page.
The twin pots are alomst the same with the evo's apart from the line fitting. Some say larger bores in the evo's also.
So following the vr4 manual should be fine.

Download the chassis and mechanical PDF.

Its prob in the evo file also. But i just know where it is in the vr4 pdf.

Ususally the rubber bit is on the top one as if you are just fitting new pads and flip the caliper up is swivels on that rubber and the bottom one which is just plain is taken out, just make sure you clean them and put some anti seize compound on em, it will probly make very little difference really which one goes wear.

Hey Luke - pretty sure the top one has the rubber - I had mine off not long ago. If your still not sure by the weekend I'll have a look for you. Cheers.

It says on the top of the bolt which one is which - and there is a letter on the caliper too so you can match them up. (at least on the VR4 there is :D)
