hey guys/girls

just wondering what my options were..

any experiences?

will be using them with the HOTBITS RACE coilovers.

The tein camber tops I had on my s13 were great, easy to adjust

the Noltec ones however look weird, i think they are camber and castor..?

i believe camber tops are a better way of adjusting camber as opposed to the offset bolts, just because it's easier to adjust and less likely to fall out of alignment

that, and they look cooler 8)

if you really want to get into track work barry, definitley get camber tops

i got the bolts, but its annoying..
hard to keep exact when putting them back in..

u got camber tops on your vr4 yet taco?

no point with these coilovers

but i will hopefully before the end of the month, providing nothing on my car breaks again
the g4 ones come with camber tops so thats easy

if camber tops are universal, every now and then some tein or JIC or cusco ones pop up on yahoo japan, could just get a set of them if the noltec ones dont work out

i know jase had noltec camber tops on his vr4, jonson has the car now
i dont know if he actually adjusted them, or just left them on 0...

a little off topic, the g4 coilovers, how much and how good are they?
$1150

can get them in any springrates you want (im just going to try the standard recommended ones first)
front 8.7 Kg/mm
rear 7.2 Kg/mm

ive heard nothing but good things from the people that use them, but seeing as theyre still a relatively new product, its hard to tell

my friends GTiR has g4 coilovers, and the ride is very nice, yet very firm

i'd love to be able to get the race hotbits, but for 2500, and they still arent fully adjustable, i cant justify the price

ah i see
i've just emailed them
might get em instead..

hotbits are pricey indeed...

want to sell your old ones?
need something for the AMG..

Yeah, I'll be selling them as soon as I get the new ones in

As previously stated G4 are cheap knockoffs of D2's.

D2s are more adjustable then g4s.

Yeah, My Galant (Jases old one) has the Noltec hight, camber and castor adjustable tops i believe.
I dont like the idea of playing with them in my driveway. so i sent it to my tyre sponsor and when i picked it up he said
"Every car should have some of these fucking things!!! they are so fucking easy to adjust"
then he was talking about how he set them up using the marked increments on the tops and then checked it with his laser aligner and it was "damned near dead on"
so i think for a professional to say that they must be pretty decent.

If anyone is going to get the Noltec strut tops for a vr4, I would recomend getting the race spec ones, not the street spec ones (that I have). With the street spec ones on Hotbits, you can only about 1 degree of neg camber. I had to use camber bolts as well to be able to get 2.5 degrees. The race spec ones have more adjustment that the street spec ones so you should be able to get around 2 to 3 degrees of neg camber without having to use camber bolts as well.

I think part of the problem is caused by the holes in the foot in the front hotbits struts not being in the right place to start off with though so its not entirely the strut top's fault.

DMS now have these strut tops available for vr4s, not sure on price but look easy to adjust

Tharaka,
How can you get that price for the G4s. Justjap rrp $1399.

The DMS ones would be a piece of cake to adjust, just undo one bolt, slide it where ever and slap the bolt in what ever holes line up and there is no chance of it "slipping" unlike the cusco and noltec ones.

But, has anyone been game enough to enquire as to a price for the DMS ones yet? I'm too scared to :D

another option is KMAC strut tops. These are both castor and camber adjustable.
