cams for 4G63???

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

I'm running Brian Crower 272's with stock valve springs and retainers. Haven't had any problems with it whatsoever.

Brian Crower states that his 272 cams are designed to work with stock valve springs but it is recommended to upgrade to heavy duty valve springs.

Apart from the cams, my head is stock.

My redline went from 5900rpm with stock cams to 7300rpm with the BC 272's.

Hope that helps.

what about any other brands HKS,comptech etc etc.....???

I think you can run HKS 272's with stock springs too, not completely sure though.

Check out the manufacturers' websites for their recommendations.

Also check out www.slowboyracing.com/dsm.htm
They usually have pretty good product descriptions on there.

why not just replace the springs/retainers while ure at it i have hks264/72 combo goin in as we speak it was reccomended to upgrade springs so i have hks items goin in aswell they arent that dear an if they help why not now i need not worry...

Today, I just purchased a set of Brian Crower 272 Camshafts, a set of Brian Crower valve springs with Titanium Retainers and a couple of clear Fidanza Adjustable Cam gears and I can't wait to have it installed and tuned.

I have done a bit of research and have only found good reviews on these products.....

standard ones........big difference in weight

There is a two week wait for the cams....

what do u guys think of HKS 264s and gears.

im looking for a slight power band stretch and a good increase in midrange, dont want to fiddle with the stock head other than cams and gears.. if u think pointless just say so. for my E4.

cams yes

gears no - they are not hard enough and wear heavily on the teeth where the belt runs, go for something else

Are you talking about the the 1st gen HKS cam gears or the 2nd?

I cant see how a rubber timing belt can wear them out?
