Can I run 7.5" wide rims?

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

8" is pretty damn wide for a CC though and would be quite difficult to put under the rears of the coupe. I know engineers only allow 7" as maximum width (1" wider than standard EVO if using EVO suspension and sterring rack setup etc ).

Nooooooooo keep away from those Enkei's tarmacs, they are mine i say ALL MINE

Hehehehe - You can have 'em mate, I think 8" will give me more grief than I can handle at the moment.

I'm going to go for a set of 7.5" wide rims if I can find 'em. No rush at the moment as the car is still on the road and I'm not desperate to pull it to bits again

borrow all four and tell him if i have no issues fiting them up I'll take them, if he's iffy drop some cash as a deposit you will get back if the dont fit!
Then what happens if you fit bigger brakes and these new rims dont clear...you start all over again

Thanks Troy, appreciate the offer. I'm just trying to keep things going at the moment in the lead-up to Christmas and haven't even looked at the car since the middle of the month.

Am still wanting to source a set of standard E5 or E6 rims, less stress and mucking around in the big picture.

John - will still try and get you those pics mate, the car hasn't moved out of the garage and with two more cars now in front of it in the driveway it's a big pain in the arse moving it into a position to take some good shots.

This wheel/tyre comparison seems to say I'll gain clearance if I maintain my 205 tyre. My current backspace with the 17x7 +42 offset rims is 143mm, with the 17x7.5 with the +38 offset it's 146mm.
