hi guys, just having some issues with getting the evorolla started. Have wired the thing up and gone to start it but not getting any spark. Getting 12 to the coils, seeing a pulse but not getting any spark. Not seeing any tacho movement on the ecu screen. Have had a base map loaded on to the stinger 4424, 4 coil ignitor running the factory coils (asked the stinger supplier if this would be an issue and was given the all clear)

So need to know some info about the c.a.s to check if everything is correct on the ecu. whats is inside CAS, are there 1 or 2 triggers, tooth count per crank/cam rev, etc)

also any suggestions/pointers about the above problem would be appreciated

thanks guys

I haven't seen the guts of an evo seven cas.....I have an evo 8 but haven't bothered to have a look inside that either. anyway....I was messing about with an early wolf ecu a while back and found out that I actually needed a custom made disc for it wo work properly. Not that it was that custom as the bloke just dril one extra hole in it......but him knowing where the hole needed to be was what i was paying for i guess. so after getting it back together i found i was getting pulse as you have said you are. I took a while longer to figure out whether the pulse needed to come from the leading or trailing edge.....and even longer to find out it was 180 degrees out that the dick drilled the hole. after swapping the wiring over on the coil packs the effect was instant....it ran.

I suggest you take a good close up picture of the inside of the cas and email to the supplier of the ecu and ask them if all looks good to run.

Don't the late model stuff have 2 sensors?

1 on the crank and one on the camshaft?

The cams would give 4 pulses and the crank would give 1 for every revolution.

This is just a guess anyway.

Try and find a wiring diagram.

Try the Motec or Autronic sites.
Microtech even provides decent info.

think i may have found the problem, i heard a rumor that evo 7 have internal ignitors and i have an external ignitor wired up to them. Time will tell tomorrow
