hey guys as you know ive bought skuz's gsr. i just managed to get rwc today and had it booked into vicroads for inspection next week. but all of a sudden ive bumped into a problem.

Earlier today i found there was very little clutch fluid left in the reservoir so i just topped it up. drove the car down to the shop then when i started the car i couldnt get into any gears. but when its off i can get it into gears and if i start it in gear it still jumps even with the clutch pressed down. im planning to bleed the system tomorrow and hope for the best. if bleeding the system doesn't help where else should i look at? any advice would be much appreciated.
Regards

there is air in the system now ..........bleed it and it may be ok for a short time. BUT that low level was very likely caused by a leak, trace the leak and replace the part. Often it the master cylinder so check under the dash for signs of wetness from the fluid

I had issues getting into gear in my RVR, especially when cold. I replaced the slave cylinder, and all was good. Check under the dash like Brian suggested- if its leaking under there, then its the master cylinder

just checked and it is slightly leaking.
im a little confused by your comment though clutz.
did you end up replacing the master cyliner or slave cylinder?
Regards

Is the clutch biting point getting lower and lower??? Does the clutch feel spongy?

and all of a sudden i wasnt able to get into gears.

Good Luck

I did a master in a CB GSR. drive along. all ok, clutch started to bite lower, then went to exit off a free way.. couldnt get it back into gear.. had to pull over, top up the reservoir.

Did you check the slave as well? that blew out on me once, rebuild kit from repco was like $8 much easier to do than the master as well..

thanks for the advice richard, i was planning to have a look at the slave aswell
just hope thats the only problem becasuse im hoping to gget it registered next week. =[

90xsi - i'm glad you got yours sorted. I just ran into this exact problem but during the morning melbourne peak hour lol. I caused the traffic and managed to drive it to a car spot, lucky!

rofl. that would of sucked!!
well its pretty easy fix. just dont forget to put the circlip back
cause ive forgotten to put the circlip back into either the
slave or the master but i cant remeber which one it was
so i might just pull them both off and see
good luck with it mate
