Car audio - Amp wiring

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

sorry just looking at that, wouldn't a fuse do fine? I've been flicking through a Wes Components catalogue and they got kits and fuses etc and its pretty cheap...
this really depends on what i plan for the setup huh....

Yes a fuse will do the job but if you start drawing large amounts of power, or plan on adding more components the breaker is by far the better option.
I have tripped mine a few times and it is a lot easier to reset the switch than have to replace costly fuses:thumbsup:

Here is another install option for you to consider, I still have my spare tyre below the amp tray which can be removed in a couple of minutes.
Those amps are powering 2 12" alpine typex subs and two sets of alpine typex 6x9 splits.

got wiring??? hahah

I've always installed my amp/sub with the generic aeropro 400w amp kit and had no issues whatsoever.

I'm not a audiophile so wouldn't notice the benefit of spending hundreds on a install kit.

yeah its that generic areopro i was just looking at...i don't think i'll be drawing huge amounts of power

that is a nice setup though those are some thick as wires =D would love to feel the headache that car would thump

If you are only running 4" splits in doors, then you are not going to get much under 80 hz anyway. If your amp has a high pass crossover on it, use that to take the bass duties away from the little drivers that are not meant to produce those frequencies anyway. It will also mean that 40 watts rms will be shit loads.
