I AM THEEE DYNO QUEEN!

Not that i have anything against AFAS.
I would just like to make a point here.
But back to the topic.
Lifters will tick initially with low oil pressure first somtimes before the light will glow.
The car at worst could have a spun bearing on a big end but this is what you dont want and check all you can to disprove around it.
Oil pick up may be loose/blocked.
Oil gallery cap in head could have been left loose.
rear balence shaft bolt in oil pump could be loose.
Front balence shaft bolt loose.
Balence shaft bearings may have spun.
Even a forign body from intercooler piping may be stuck beside a piston but wont effect oil pressure.
Oil squirter may have been left loose/broken.
Broken rocker arm.
These are just some of the issues that we have seen from time to time when cars get brought to us from around the place.
Most of it will be human error caused by a number of reasons in a workshop situation.
Any how you did the right thing by towing it straight away.
That will keep your workshop in a better position to be able to fix the issue.
Any how have a few late nights on us and good luck.
A 4G93 has balance shafts?.. since when...
Ive spoken to Darren.. actually i went over there last week to drop some parts off that he lent me. AFAS is on the case.. Kris.. im sure you know what its like.. they do all their jobs inhouse and dont need to ring other people to question them about what they should be doing... Im sure you can return the favor if Darren needs your advice since he has helped u and wicky out with a VR4 conversion awhile ago
As ive said before.. they have a 12 month/20,000km warranty if the car is serviced there.. so whatever the case is it is under warranty.. unless its void by something the owner did (not saying you did anything olly)!.
