Since I cant wash my car without going to the carwash (*dance*), I dont want to use those brooms to clean it, is there any places where I can bring my own sponge/soap/bucket/chamois, and just wash the car myself. All I need is the water/spray gun...

sorry to go off-topic a little here man...

the obvious answer i was going to say is your front lawn... but do you guys in melb really have that harsher water restrictions...

ouch!

wash your car at one of these places at like 4am. There's nobody else around at all.

I always use my own sponge and chamois, even in the middle of the day

Is like going to a restaurant for dessert or only for a drink, they have to take your money even if you dont have the main course :D

A few samurai moves with the foam stick, the spray gun, and your laughing for $3

alright so i can just bring my own shit then, sweet :p
ill just do it late at night i guess.... just only problem is I usually clean 1 panel at a time, then wash it off... can you like use the water gun (say $1 = 1min), then like pause it, then turn it back on etc? Or do i have to go crazy and clean as much crap as I can before it dries up and wash it off all in one go?

All I can say is I dont like Steve Bracks isnt doing enough! Desalination/Recycled water should be used to supply drinking water/help dieing rivers/support farmers, but he's done nothing thats made a difference, and it doesnt seem to be getting any better. The longer we wait for something to be done, the worse. With a constantly growing population and less rainfall, how can one not increase the supply of water? I think I might get a rainwater tank though, since i want to wash my car at home, so ive got no excuses there.

so you're one of those pricks that takes forever and holds up the queue?

just kidding...

it's not a bad idea using the sponge instead of the brush... people use the brushes to clean the brake dust off their wheels... :?

I take a bucket, an enjo glove/car wash sponge, chamois and some of my own car wash liquid. Fill up the bucket with the soapy water, rinse the car down for 1 dollar, scrub it clean, take my time, then for another dollar clean it all off. Two bucks, too easy.

karcher pressure washer, draws water straight from a bucket, get em from super cheap auto for as little as $99, can use them for more than just washing the car as well

Lol I don't want to get into politics as I live in another state...

However if this Steve Bracks fellow really is responsible for the drought hows about we hang him by his toes over the side of the Sydney Harbour bridge until he break the drought?

Point being don't blame your pollies for the drought :p.

Blame pollies of yesteryear for not doing something...

True, but they will be the pollies of yesteryear for not doing anything. What are they doing right now aside from restricting us?

I agree with the restrictions 100% but would like to know if they are doing much or anything on an industrial basis or is it all residential?
dont quote me on this but ive heard that the amount of water used in creating goods/foods etc. to export overseas works out alot more than residential use. I havent heard anything about restrictions and attempts to reduce water usage in those area's. Like i said i dont have hard facts just like to know what you guys think

Cheers
Jamie
