Hey everyone im having trouble trying to get me gsr to idle. Its had a aftermarket tb put on and the new tps that has come with it is a 3pin were the old one is a 4. I have set it up the way it was directed to but it just wont idle. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated

I tried but tottaly different. And the manifold is different to, tried to bolt the old tb upto the new manifold but the bolt holes are totaly out of wack

It's running a 4g63 out of a vr4, just so difficult to try and get it to idle without changing everything back to oem wich I really dont want to

That's weird. Maybe you'd have to get an adaptor made to attach the oem tps to? Surely a tps that got a wire less would need an aftermarket ecu to run right?
Not really, it came from the factory like that remember.
TPS is just a potentiometer on our cars. At it's most basic level, it requires only +5VDC & GND as inputs and throttle signal (0-5V) output.
Nissans have 3 & 4 wire TPS between the same engine on different models and the fourth wire is a throttle home switch.
I can't recall what the fourth wire is on VR4's though.

mate I dont really understand lol do you have any pics or videos on what to do ? Hopeless with electrical stuff

The tps wouldnt be off a newer model would it, I know the tps off newer mitsi's the plug configuration is reversed, dunno what it would do to ya idle

have ya got a pic or link of the t/b your using?

Get a wife, she will make you do it.

It only has one wire, so its earthed. The wire in the tps plug that doesnt have a corresponding pin in tps needs to be earthed when you are closed throttle. Or just get a 4 pin tps as it is built in

What Jack said. With the extra wire, you want it to be earthed on zero throttle. You could rig up a microswitch on your throttle body to do this if you can't retrofit an idle switch from an older setup.

2G 4G63T TPS
1 - Green/Yellow (+5v Sensor Power)
2 - Brown/Red (TPS output voltage)
3 - Yellow/Red (IPS switch)
4 - Black (Ground)

1G 4G63T TPS
1 - Green/Red (+5v Sensor Power)
2 - Green/White (TPS output voltage)
3 - NC
4 - Green/Black (Ground)

So... get a 4 pin tps and the one you havent connected is the idle switch
