i've found that sometimes after driving my car during a hot day then turning it off for about 15 -30 mins it won't start again. i don't hear the starter motor ticking over or anything. all the electrics are still working and the battery isn't flat.
could it be something overheating? i usually have to pop the bonnet open for about 5 - 10 mins then i can start it up again. it's never happened in winter before. any ideas?

yeah could be the starter, or a bad earth or something?

then again it could be an immobiliser issue?

i would say starter/starter solenoid olly if it doesnt do anything at all like you say. do the dash lights still all light up etc...

i diagnosed the same issue on my mrs car by pouring cool water over the starter when it happened to cool it and the car started straight away.

disclaimer;if you choose to do that be careful where you put the water though as you dont want to cause other issues

bring it round, and see if a mallet fix's anything lol..... could also be the relay....
