is there a Common problem with the lancer GSR 1.8s, e.g igniton coil, power transistor?
my car cranks over but has no spark

and now i have no car to pick up my 2lt

is it deffinatley no spark, or is it no fuel, i know my verada had this problem and the ecu had fried, probly not the case here tho, the coils do wear out overtime, don't think it is a common problem on them tho

You can check for spark by:
Pulling off one of the spark plug leads. Remove the spark plug and connect it to the spark plug lead you have removed. Touch the body of the spark plug to something metallic on the engine (rocker cover is usually easiest). Crank the engine and if you don't see a spark jumping across the electrode of the spark plug - then you have no spark. Probably an ignition coil/module problem then.

yeah i allready did that and there was no spark, it spark a few times, say 1 or of every 5 cranks, thats way im thinking it is the coil pack

i had the same problem with my car right after i did the conversion, it was my crank angle sensor module (the black part with the pug on it) they seem to crack and fail to work

...or it could be the plug that goes into the CAS. Every 4G93T I see has the plug bent over badly or looking rather worn and tattered that it could be up da shit.

nah the CAS plug is fine, this is giving me the shits i have to drive my GFs car around and its so gay

so know one can help us out with a crank angle sensor??

yeah i tryed that the other day but Diagnostic Connectors is different to theirs ill just have to change the CAS and see what happends

my one is on the left

yeah all good it was the CAS,

Jon came over and he swwped over parts

Glad to see if working again :)

Crank Angle Sensors failing seems to be common, along with the Idle Control Motor.
