You can get that done here localy, so it COULD work out cheaper, as I work at a car dealership it is one of the things people do to make there new car cost a bit more, there are a few different finishes available, woodgrain, metalic silver, carbon fibre and probably a few other finishes as well. if you are interested I could find out a contact for the firm that does this work.

I would be interested to find out how much they cost..

Mainly for the steering wheel column, and the front dash facia ...

I think I saw the guy that dips them in Hot 4's or something like that ... One of the adds in the back ... But not sure how well they turn out ...

check this out, not the one from my work (it's called dash designes or somthing) as the aftermarket lady can't find his website address but gave me his phone number if you wanted I can PM I guess.

All fake except for the rear vision mirror (possibly the spark plug cover). You can clearly see the real 3 dimensional depth in the mirror compared to the others which you can see no depth or light reflection whatsoever. Plus some black plastic mould numbers in some items are a dead giveaway that its fake carbon fibre and more likely the heat shrink wrap I must admit that it looks good when done properly (although give me a brushed or polished silver look over carbon fibre anyday )

Has anyone gone ahead with anything to do with coatings on your trim panels etc? I was at the Bendigo Swap the other weekend and picked up a flyer for this company: www.uniquecoatingsolutions.com I figured having a stand there would indicate they are a localish company and looking at what they do it looks like the coatings would be a nice touch to your car. If anybody is interested, I just thought I would let you kno of this place.
