Buy a stocker and put all the bits you didnt use in it and buy cheap parts from forums like kits, brakes, springs and mags etc to make it look sexy like my Mrs' daily driver. Its an Executive sedan and I chucked in EVO black interior and power windows and a 2003 Proton Gti engine only done 25,000kms (drives awesome and quiet) and its supersweet, cheap to run and still got that EVO look to get you from A-B in style 8) All up this car only owes me about $6k :D Next I gotta tint the windows so no one can see me driving it  Better than a CE Lancer or Mirage for the same price anyday!!

Damn that looks so similar to the Lancer awd convert in the current Hot4's Mag

yer not bad..... get rid of the drum brakes on the back and you proly have a hard time telling the difference.....

sydney styling indeed!! 8)

very cool daily..

love = working on the car, it relaxes me, its like my getaway.

hate = the never ending process.

And I agree with the daily driver...
Performance cars are becomming a luxury these days, parts are getting scarce, fuel is expensive, cops are the pain in the ass...

get something like a suzuki swift gti.. a to b.. cheap and reliable...

I get the same thing, just everytime I get a little pissed at it, I start looking at the market and all of the larger jap sportscars are comeing down in price alot, Skylines and supras and I suddenly think, why arent I in one of those.

i'd love to have a daily, but i'm still a student and can't really afford insurance/rego for two cars, let alone one lol..

I was loving my car until I lunched my engine on Sunday....with only 25,000kms since the re-build...and just to rub salt into the wounds, I was pulled over by a copper whilst trying to nurse it home because it was blowing excessive smoke and the result; I was defected!!! Thankfully I only have to take it down to the cop station and don't have to go over the pits to get the defect cleared. I guess now its an excuse to throw in some aftermarket cams and aftermarket camgears.....

Love = driving, working on the car
hate = wanting more power, LSD's, better brakes, suspension... which is related to love really...

+1 for the daily beater! And I'll agree with Tenji that it makes you appreciate the weekender more. Driving the Evo is like a special treat these days(a special treat needing earplugs)

Loves: driving it on the track
Hates: not having a bloody trailer for it

i agree second car ftw.. or in my case farm ute!

if you looking for something seperate as a daily but still with some balls and cheap mebbe look at something older like a cordia... easy to work on and parts aint that hard to find and pretty good on fuel but still got some get up and go when you want it..

I'll put down a -1 for the daily driver, unless you really love your car that much... With my last car (1st Gen Celica with a MR2 engine) I had a daily driver falcon, I never used to work on the Celica as much as I should have and drove it even less... the motivation just wasnt there.

I do however support the owning of two cars, I just have a 'backup' car that I can use when I am having work done to the evo or when I want to go away. That way I get the fun of driving my evo every day, but when something goes wrong... like it always does with these cars it isnt the end of the world for me.
