Anyone here know how to..
A. Test the antenna
B. Check the connections/ground (and where)
C. Replace it
I've noticed lately that I think my antenna may be corroded or just becoming old, as the "stereo" flickers on the head unit, and I know it doesn't sound as clear as it could.
I've checked the plug and made sure its pushed into the head unit correctly, so that seems fine.
Occasionally, I have noticed if you touch the antenna itself, or adjust it in a different position, it can make it better. (hence why I think its old/corroded).
So what do I need to pull apart to remove the entire thing?
Last time I tried, I un-did the 2 screws on the top, but it doesn't come out (obviously the antenna cable is still connected to it). I tried tracking the antenna underneath the dash and I think from memory it went inside the A-Pillar? Does the A-Pillar just pull out or is it clipped or screwed down? Where is the antenna actually grounded?
Any help would be good, the GF is away for the weekend, so I got time to try and fix it once and for all.
Cheers
