CC GSR Turbo upgrade

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

threads abit old but relates to my current interest.

some time in the future (hopefully near) i intend on building a forged 93t, i already have many parts for this and one is a 14b turbo, now im thinking that a 14b might be abit restricting being a rather small turbo, my question is will a 14b rear housing fit a 16g (big or small)? the reason i ask is the 14b i bought had a aftermarket rear housing fitted (gt pumps rings a bell) that has a larger exhaust inlet to lower the common boost creep problem these turbos have and i thought if i upgrade to a 16g it might be handy to be able to swap to the ported housing on the new turbo.

thanks guys

best option for the 4g93 guys is to start with a td05h 14b

i dont agree with the 14b.. altho it is personal choice really, but you dont see much difference if spool time between the td04 and the 16g, only difference i did see with the 16g is the torque, 16g comes on alot stronger (but that is just me)

If you throw on the 16g right away aswell you dont need to mess aroud later if you want to run a td05 with a 20g wheel or run a td06

well for me i noticed quite a difference in how the 16g spooled when it was pair with gsr injectors and afm compared to the td04. i have since installed the evo 3 afm injectors and ecu and will now say that the 16g responds alot more like the stock td04 did. spinning all 4 wheels when it's wet is quite fun as is an awd drift. (not enough power output from my little 1.8 to do that in the dry though)
