Will be picking up my newly ceramic coated manifold in the next few days. :D However i've never dealt with ceramic before so i wanted to know what precautions (if any) i should take when tightening nuts/ flanges etc. Are there anything else i should keep an eye out for throughout it's life?

Was also considering ceramic coating Turbo Hotside and possibly even the dump pipe.
Is this a common thing or am i wasting my money goin to such extreme's?

Cheers

Although I have not ceramic coated anything myself I would have though surface finish would be similar to that of powder coating. If that's the case standard cleaning procedures would apply!

I used Thermal Edge at Brendale for my piston crowns and dry film skirts, I didn't anything else get done at the time but I would recommend them Mo, nice blokes too.

ULS33, ceramic coating is a very tough surface, but on saying that, it can chip if impacted hard. Regarding maintenance evopwr hit it on the head as to it's similarities to powdercoat as it is a very similar process in as much as it starts

out as a powder but is plasma sprayed on to the surface. In laymans terms it heats the pumpernickel out of the powder changing it to molten form allowing it to adhere and build to the required micron thickness. There is probably a

bunch more prep stuff that happens, but I got the cliff notes from the coater.

also be extremly careful with handling and oil residue over the first few heat cycles. i strongly recommend CLEAN cotton gloves for installation. as oil residue from fingers etc once cycled through heat for the first time can stain the finish
