Check Engine light when Aircon On.

Ok, Im getting a Check Engine light coming on the dashboard only when the aircondition is switched on in my 93 CC GSR. If I turn the engine off, and on it goes away.

If I turn the aircon on, it comes on again. Car does not run any differently. I have noticed that the Check Engine light comes on after idling at traffic lights with the Aircon going. I do not get the Check Engine light when crusing on the freeway with the Aircon on. Ideas anyone?

ive just started getting a similar problem...

when im almost stopped, or stopped completely my check engine light comes on occasionally. does anyone know how to pull engine fault codes? so i can fix the problem straight away.

car still runs fine, holds boost fine, so im a tad confused.

hopefully its nothing major. i would cry,

so its only happening when the air con is on, and the car is stationary... hmm the only difference while you're moving would be increase in air flow to cool down the car.. is it showing an increase in temperature on the gauge? check to make sure the fans are running when aircon is on

the only other thing i can think of is the revs.. when you turn air con on, is it idling heaps low when the car is stationary and about to stall?
check engine light - low oil pressure when revs are low?

Check Engine Light

Engine is still idling normally when the light comes on. Havent noticed any differences with engine temperature; infact the car runs perfectly normal and I can get rid of the check engine light by turning the car off and on again. Check engine light does not come on if the car is idling without the aircon on.

I am beginning to think its some sort of an electrical anomaly.

Throw a data logger on it and see what fault codes it making then you will know 100% whats causing it.
