clear side indicators?

hey guys,
just wondering where i could get a set of clear side indicators - the ones on the front quarter panels... can anyone give me the heads up on them?

lawrence used nissan x trail ones and got a panel beater to fit them

hey shouldnt be too hard to find mate, we'll take the ones off my mum's X'y and have a swap and see how we go fitting them. the VR4 side indicators seem like a standard type of light, what size is the whole in the chassis behind the fitment? where is the screw that holds it in?

on the subject of clear lights, has oneone seen clear tailights for the vr4s? Saw a set in US for US$170. Not quite worth it.

if the commodore ones fit without any holes showing, you think the nissan ones would fit? i have no idea of the size of them.

The hole for clear side indicators is more or less the same from any car to any other car simply because the wiring harnesses are a standard (regulated through ADR) plug. They generally use two clips either side of the plug that go through the hole and clip in behind the metal. You simply squeeze and pull backwards to get em off

When you attach them, use a dab of silicon to make it seal correctly to the guard. It will stop it vibrating out if the clip isn't 100% as well.

Tharaka's right, mine are off an X-Trail but they were the same size as the normal indicators in my Galant GSR so therefore should fit a vr4. Grab one from a wrecker (~20 dollars) and have a go

Remember, if you have to enlarge the hole, that's easy. But please get a panelbeater to do it so they can rustproof the metal cuts etc.

i have them on my jspec, but i have aspec guards i think
j specs have the indicators where the park lights are so they dont need them in the guards

if your car was complied and wasn't done "dodgily" you'd have them in the quarter panel and not just up the front. This only applies in Victoria though.

the mr2 ones are tiny, the s15 ones are ok I guess. I'm happy with the xtrail ones, can't beat OEM quality
