It sounds like your clutch thrust/release bearing is worn. The bearing takes the load of the pressure plate while disengaging the clutch. How noisy is it?

your clutch thrust bearing is mostlikely dying and or dead.....

you have to drop the gear box to fix it, so might as well change clutch if its old....

old topic guys... but just wondering from reading the above; Car's making a fan belt like noise when clutch is out, goes away when press clutch pedal in...
would that be the thrust bearing maybe? It was also crunching into first, but that might have been because it was sitting for 2 weeks, and have been messing around with the shifter...

Crunching try adjusting gears.

The other noise could be input shaft bearing. I've replaced thrusts many time to have the noise again straight away

Most likely to be an internal motion shaft/bearing problem. By pushing the clutch in, drive is disengaged. It isnt a thrust bearing problem. Time to pull the gearbox out !

Isn't crunching at all now. Might be because was sitting for 2 weeks? Still making the noise though... am hoping to not take the box out!!! but if i have to...

Oh. U probably will have to to access the input shaft :) but if u wor out how to do it with box on let me know :)

Whoops. I meant the clutch pedal. Ha ha ha. Had like a hundred things going through my mind at the time. Ha ha ha

Oh....Thought that you may have somehow got temporarily retarded!? ...Cause that was one of the most retarded pieces of advice I've ever read on here...

Ha ha ha. Agreed. We all have our retard moments. The over bit was ok though. About input shaft bearings. :p

I was at work when I posted it so was probably interupted by a customer....I WANT MY CAR BACK. Causin me great loneliness. Ha ha ga
