When i push the clutch in and let off it is popping up almost like it is sticking. I've topped up my resivour and will bleed the clutch tomorrow. There is a decent about of play in the pedal when pushing down before you feel the disengagment of the clutch. any ideas?

if thats the case is there any way to fix it? Ive heard of this on the 1g DSM stuff but dont know much about it

Do a search. Liberoz posted up the template for the steel enforcing plate.

Also check for fluid inside the car around the clutch pedal. Could be your master cylinder.

The masters in these models particular are at the very end of there life, I'd source a new one to replace the old one and when you pull it out remove the pedal assembly and have a welder handy and some spare mild steel if it is the assembly! re-weld and reinforce it along with putting in the fire wall reinforcement clutch plate also, which if you send me an PM with your email I'll send you the PDF file for the clutch bracket template.

i am having the same problem with my clutch. I inspected the clutch bracket and it was welded before... so i guesss its broken

Also get one of your friend to step on the clutch peddle and see if the fire wall around the clutch master is flexing, and if it is... than it's going to be a big job.

I am take mine to a body shop and get a steel plate inserted and welded...

1. fluid
2. firewall flex
3. clutch slave/master
4. clutch line
5. clutch pedal
6. worn pivot point in the g/box

i've had all the above :D

its as John said the master cylinder is faulty, it was probly a warranty/recall item back in the day
