coil help

My VR4'd Cordia seems to be running on 2-3 cylinders. This has been an intermitent problem but has got worse.

It will start and idle, albeit badly. However, I tried to start it with one coil disconnected and it started and idled badly, but would not start with the other coil unplugged. I am thinking coil is dying, sound about right?

does happen from time to time, that was the symptoms when my coils started dying

ok, changed coils, no difference. could it be ignitor? any way to check these? maybe I have a dud injector? again, whats the best way to check?

do a compression test on all cylinders, may have a burnt out valve, when you rev it does it smoothen out higher in the rev range, have you changed your plugs and leads.

changed plugs, leads, coils and ignitor, still no spark. weird..... will rip it apart on weekend, maybe a wolf problem....

Dont see how that would affect the spark tho.

it may not be spark related, thats what i am trying to say, i thought mine was spark, changed the whole ignition system, then did a compression test and had a burnt out valve so it was misfiring badly on 1 cylinder

OK, I see now. I think mine is spark.... as one of the coils is not firing. Will try comp test too tho, cheers.
