i know the dsm guys in USA use the dodge intrepid coils on their cop setups, but we don't have those here, what cars here have cop coils that would work for this type of set up, i know that CA18DE (T?) have them well at least on EXAs but what else is around that has them

are you making that much power that your running out of spark? honestly a stock ignition setup is good for around 270kw.

if you want cars that COP setup try:

LS1's
Toyota 1JZ/2JZ/7M

i cant remember any other cars.

i'm not running out of spark (well i don't know coz the car hasn't been used for 14months), but why do i have to do things the same as everyone else, i want somethin a little different, i thought that was the idea of havin a vr4, not to be the same as everyone else

I have a set from Buschur Racing, they're from a Chrysler 300C  As stated you dont really need them unless the stock coils are giving you grief and honestly, in most cases the stock coils will do the job. I got mine because with a sheetmetal intake manifold, braided lines, FPR etc, I have no space to mount the stock leads and twin coil pack. The COP's are a much neater setup which takes up less room as well.

Sorry Jon but the stock coils are good for more than that!
People of late seem to be underestimating the Mitsubishi engineers and modifying things that aren't neccessary.

IF you get to the point that the stock system isn't supplying enough spark - THEN update it.

The money is better spent elsewhere

thats true Dan.. i only said 270kw cos thats a realistic figure for most people.. not many people want or will push over that unless they want to spend the cash on their cars.. if they did that then they wouldt ask about which cars use them they would just go out and buy directly from the supplier (ie.. cash to splash)

Jon

like i said before, i'm not modifying them because i run out of spark, i'm modifying them because i want to have something a little DIFFERENT to everyone else, its like owning a lancer and putting an evo kit on, everyone does it, i don't want to be like everyone else

Honestly, I'd rather be throwing my money else... I wouldn't let the desire to be different cloud logic. But, it's up to you.

if it's that important to be different, raise the suspension, fit the smallest steelies you can, and convert to a non-turbo single cam motor

alot of the nissan boys swap to a wasted spark setup with mitsi coils because the stock coil on plug set-ups are so failure prone.

That looks neat and tidy was it expensive to setup, I already have 4x coil pack, but no-where to fit them as I have to fit leads still

For your information Buschur use our M&W Pro-12 CDI unit in their COP CDI setup.
So if anybody is thinking of getting one just buy the coil pack setup from them and the CDI locally to save some $$$.

Also we hope to offer the complete kit ourselves in the near future.

the complete kit would be awesome, you should do it.

i had a look at using some nissan coils the other day but they seemed to have 3 wire connections rather than 2?

how much do standard coils cost, mine are cactus?

I am not sure how much the stock coils are to replace we only do custom stuff not general ignition replacement parts.

M&W coil on plug (COP) ignition kits coming soon!

VR4/EVO1-3 kits

Inductive kits
Coil pack kit only = $450.00
Coil pack kit + 2 X 2ch M&W ignitors = $747.00
NOTE: these are aftermarket ECU only (4 igniters needed).

CDI Kit
Coil pack kit + M&W PRO12 CDI = $1200.00
NOTE: the CDI setup can be run by the stock ECU.

NOTE: These kits require some wiring knowledge to install.
