what models can the collar/mount come out of to suit the VR4 4g63 eng in the 92 gsr lancer.Mine was warped (the one that was in the car at time of purchase), and had snapped two sets of bolts holding it into the block, within round 2000kms of driving. i couldnt find a replacement so had mine refabricated..........and its screwed!
I now have the cv coming off the shaft in less than 10kms of driving. I have been told that the collar/mount is out of alignment which is causing this problem. Plz guys, any help with this would be hugely appreciated. Looking to replace the collar/mount with an unmolested item.

Are you talking about the timing belt side mount?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think you need an EVO 1-3 mount for that side.

CV shaft mount that bolts in at the bottom of the engine. At the very bottom of block, closest to the firewall.its the collar that holds the cv shaft from the gearbox, where it meets the cv joint/passenger side that im talking about. Having a major headache with it atm

Mine's the standard one .. I've had no problems.

What mounts did you use for the engine and gearbox? Maybe it's not sitting right and pulling it out of alignment?

I just replied to your question in the VR4 into GSR TECH sticky in this forum http://4gtuner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3654&start=15 . You should be using 8mm hi-tensile washers or the factory VR4 aircon mounting bracket to have the CV spaced from the block at the right height and angle. If your bolts have snapped off inside the block then damn man... you need to get them out and retap the block if you still can, otherwise if its too far gone, you may need another block otherwise nothing will hold it on. By not having the correct 8mm spacing the 2 bolts holding the CV mount onto the block will screw in at angles to eachother and not sit properly. Your CV mount would twist making your bolts twist or break. Screwing them in on an angle to eachother would also have caused them to sieze, and why they most definitely broke off

thanx for the info guys.In paticular the conversion details were great. The snapped bolts have been removed, block retapped twice, and the cv shaft hanger refabricated and spaces made........but the fabricators have miss aligned it. The set up had been in the car for a long time without this issue, and all started due to the bolt holes in the hangers becoming worn.i have only had the alignment prob since the hanger had been modified. It did originally have the air-cond pump fitted before it was repaired/modified. engine and gearbox mounts are fine and in the correct alignment. With the info provided and having the car checked by a mechanic it is apparent i now need to find a cv shaft hanger from a VR4 4g63t, and provide the 8mm spacer as suggested, or find air-cond bracket and refit it. Causing major headaches, can anyone help out with locating the cv shaft hanger, and air-cond bracket out of the VR4??????

Here's a pic for you in the meantime so you know what to look for (the "X" looking bracket in the pic on the left hand side). Guy's this is what he is talking about (sorry, mobile phone pic). This aircon mount goes onto the block first, then the CV bolts onto it. MAKE SURE you get the correct bolts for it as well! The bolts have a special tapered end on them and certain tensile strength  Good to see the VR4 2 litre into GSR conversion DIY is coming in handy :D
