1. Any palmtop that has a serial cable.
2. $89 from meek or someone on this forum.
3. You can record your engine stats. Especially good for 1/4 mile runs. You can see if its knocking and see if oyu changed gears at the right time etc etc.
4. Grab the free mmc program. Plug the cable into the fuse box on the right drivers side kick panel. Run the program. Hit monitor. Feel cool.

1. look on the mmcd website, shop on ebay... get an m505 or m515 as they are colour.

2. they are arround $105 delivered to your door from meek as jason ordered one 2 days ago.

3. benifits, are data loggin.
downside its distracting while driving

4. someone, will learn you in the art of data logging.
tim, i'm sure will show you the ways young padawan

1. This is the same as the Palm that I use :) http://cgi.ebay.com.au/PDA-Palm-Pil...9715044598QQcategoryZ3730QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

2. What Adrian Said

3. Same as 2 except that they are not that distracting unless you are trying to adjust your SAFC whilst watching you O2 trim on the logger and trying to concentrate on the road all at tghe same time!

4.I can only teach those of pure mind!
Or those who happen to also own a Maroon VR4 lol

P.S Has anyone worked out how to charge their Palm whilst using it for logging in he car?

(please adivse following post from jason and he is drunk as and as in he i mean i)

to answer the question does anyone know how to charge whilst on the fly?? I don't know about that.....i'm thinking maybe not as the only way to recharge and also log at the same time is via the bottom jack. The only way i can possibly think of doing it is making some kind of mutant pda where you have bare wires connected to some 12v/240v converter. But that would require a spare pda and the possibility of screwing up a perfectly good datalogging pda.

As regards the charging... i have been thinking about that one too.

The best (and only?) way to power da pda would be to run a line from the battery (or somewhere else that always gets power even when the engine is off) to a voltage transformer (dc-dc) and then to a 4xAAA battery harness that plugs into the back of your pda. It will drain your car battery a bit.... i dont really know how juicy those things are when they are 'off'.

I have seen those harness things around.... if you can't find one you could just make one - after you have the step down its just a matter of making something that can easily be pulled in/out
