defects in the mail?

hey guys,

i'm just curious... can the coppers send you a defect notice or a request to display the car for roadworthy inspection through the mail without pulling you over? ...i know the can issue EPA notices without pulling you over.

I was driving through st kilda along the esplanade yesterday after picking up a friend whose car had been stolen and a prick in an unmarked blue VY SS commodore watched me approach in his mirror, watched me drive past, and wrote something down while he let his partner talk **** to some other bastard who probably got pulled over for breathing oxygen. :roll:

is it just me, or is everyone else getting sick of being bent over for doing absolutely nothing wrong? :evil:

Yes, but it's absolutely screwed. If we all agree that Police are gods and bow down to them when they pull you over and cater to some of their ego's they might just leave you alone, but look sideways at them and they'll soon make you lose any respect that you have left for the police force. Most of them are really good and I respect what they do, but a minorty have the power trip going to their heads and are just plain cocks - much like the one that Mat originally mentioned in the first thread :evil:

i am always polite to them if i do get pulled over...

what ***** me is when they talk to you like you're a criminal when being full co-operative, especially when you get pulled up without committing an offence!

if i get a defect in the mail i'll be ******!

...the car only just got roadworthied!

after my trip to Canberra for summernats i can surely say that VIC cops are the worst. For example, the main cruise street in Canberra was packed with un-roadworthy cars (As in they were loud and had visible defaults) and there would have been between 20 - 40 cops on patrol. It was only the people being ********* that got pulled over. If it was Easter Nats there would have been a Inspections Centre on ever exit.

Actually your RWC only covers you at the time it was written! i got defected in my rodeo, got it cleared and got defected again within the 28 days, and as the 2nd defect was written after the RWC, it is no longer valid. Just speakin from experience unfortunately

but your rwc is valid for 28days they cant touch you

I dont think they will do anything, I saw a police officer driving and on her mobile phone today
