Hey guys,
I'm beginning to wonder if the reason for my car running rich on boost is because I'm only using the standard fuel pressure regulator.
The mods I have are 550cc injectors, Walbro and Wolf 3D.
Mat :)

Yepp. You need one for the low rpm's running rich. It will return to idle
betta if you get one. Bumma ay ;[

is that the only time it will benefit me?
the car runs fine apart from blowing some black smoke on boost.

i do have a few boost leaks, but it shouldnt make it run rich with the aftermarket ecu. it doesnt have an air flow meter.

Look out the back during your early revs take off when you have lights
shinning behind you at night time. Adjustable FPR helps & a chip to suit
your 550's. Safc doesn't do a lot for low fuel trims. Ecu controls low trims
& safc takes over from mid fuel trims onwards.

no fpr will basically increase your base fuel pressure because the hole is so small that it wont be able to bypass enough fuel with the increase flow from the walbro..

but this normally only affects the idle / low rpm stuff

personally i'd get one anyway, go for a malpassi, u can pick them up for cheap these days..

as for the richness,
did u change the boost at all from the original tune?

i know pete tunes it so if u up the boost, the map goes rich to protect the motor from pinging..

but he normally tunes it quite rich anyway, unless you tell him..
to protect the motor...

so if i got a malpassi/sard/aeromotive or whatever rising rate fpr, the idle will still be rich?

i thought the whole point of getting the fpr was so it fixes the rich idle?

An adjustable fuel reg will hold your fuel pressure at factory pressure
at idle when you set it up & it will allow the fuel pressure to rise as your
revs go up. I don't know how to adjust the air/fuel ratio's on a Wolf 3D.
But if you say it is running sorta fine, then just buy an adjustable fuel reg
for now & set it up at factory fuel pressure at idle with the vacume off & blocked with your finger. Relook at the air/fuel ratio's after this on your
Wolf 3D.

no, i said no fpr (which means a stock one) will make it rich..
