Hey Guys/Gurls,

Just a warning that I would not recommend you deal with direct clutch in QLD.

To cut a long story short, they sent me a twin plate clutch which cost me $2020 and it was installed into my car. The clutch was faulty and broke inside my gearbox and also damaged my gearbox. I had to get the box replaced and everything.

So im out of pocket almost $3500 and they said they would give me a refund as it was their fault. I sent up the clutch COD as they requested and they didnt even pick it up.. it was there for 2 months before they sent it bak to me (mind you i had to pay for delivery back and forths). Now that was 6 months ago.

I have tried other ways using consumer affairs etc still to no avail. Now i have decided to lodge a claim with small claims tribunal and take them to court over the amout of money they owe me.

That is my story... So at this stage 6 months later, im out of pocket and they are giving me the run around..

I would strongly urge that no one deal with them AT ALL.. they are untrustworthy people.

Damn Jon, I remember you telling me about the clutch dying on you, fscking ages ago. Good luck with it all man!

Yikes! This STILL going on Jon? Sorry to hear mate, thank god I went with Jim Berry rather than Direct Clutch, he is a champion!

Heres some pictures for you guys. The diagnosis from another clutch place was. Direct Clutch used the wrong clutch spline, they used a normal mitsubishi one which is 22.75mm not a VR4/GSR/EVO one which is 22.4mm. Thus the case there was play in the plates which ment that when the clutch was spinning there was always movement.. So it took no more then 800km (run in time) for this to turn into something major and the first clutch hub to break off the plate and free spin on the spline. You will note that I have included a picture of the spline and you can see where its damaged it.

Mind you i was told when i bought this clutch that it will handle 400AWKW no problems. When I was running it in and it breaks.. Good one..

Hi Guys,

Yeah not a pretty sight at all Jony hope all goes well if not let us know and can point you in the correct direction,
Also all don't forget your sponsors can supply clutch's better and cheaper than the twin plate and when you can show me a 4gt that can break one fitted by us I will replace it free of charge* Also the same clutch is running in our XR6T Ute which has 390rwkw and around 1200NM Torque !!!!

Yes well I know all of you would like so very much to prove me wrong
so clauses are good things !!!

But seriously I have built some pretty quick 4g's Rally, race & street cars and i can certainly say have had hands on experience at what 's good and whats not ! and in competition you aint got no second chance at the win !!!!

yeah I got my new clutch through darren, probably smaller than what most of you guys would be after but it grabs pretty hard and easy as a motherfuck to use, haven't properly run it in yet, so I haven't been able to give it a real go.. but yeah I'd reccomend darren as far as clutches go too :)
