It wasn't exactly a can of worms dre, but yes, you tipped the iceberg along with the 11 PMed complaints and 8 or more people on MSN beating at my ears.
The ECU is being portrayed IMO as factory and untampered. Blatant misinformation.

Okay now this is really getting intresting.
So what you guys are trying to say is that if I had a chipped (modified) stock ECU, and different compressor wheel, exhaust wheel and external wastegated (modified) 16g, I could still claim I had the fastest stock ECU/turbo'd EVO 1 in the country?

there has to be a line you can draw when it comes to saying whats stock, and whats not! I'm with GSRSOL on this one, a stock ECU has been untouched, a chipped one has not.
Its just like saying "yeah- my 3" exhaust is stock" because its bolted to a stock engine!

last time i checked a stock ecu cant be tuned on the fly.... any chip that can do that is aftermarket imo..... its jstyles choice wether he wants to say that or not.... but he should be aware that people get sick of hearing about ur times and how fast u are.... its cool really happy for u but dont hijack a thread saying.... i ran this at a speed of this blah blah no1 cares stay on subject offer advise but dont spam ur personal achievements everywhere.... as for lorie get over ur admin powers dude.... ur like a mini hitler.... u also speak **** so get over it every1... we arent here to bitch at eachother and we arent here to rip eachother off we are here for a common interest and that is mistu's

i think it should be left open so that all involved can vent their ideas and complaints in one thread rather than take it to another thread which will happen if this ne is locked.
As for the ECU, its a grey area. Yes it has been re-written but essentially it is still what came in the car when it left the factory as no parts have been changed! I understand that it is not mapped as it left mitsu but the hardware is as it left. And anyone who know's, will know that they can be tuned on the fly and will take this into consideration when assesing jon's statement.

factory is factory.... stock is stock.... remapping for c16 isnt stock.... remapping so it can run 22psi isnt stock....
tuning on the fly isnt factory.... the factory ecu wasnt designed to be tampered with.... the factory ecu was made by mitsu to make the car run its best at stock.... u wanna make it go harder then most mechanics would put aftermarket in not even bother with a remap....
so yes it is a stock ecu part wise and looks.... but is it running the factory settings??? no so there for it isnt stock or factory!!!!

it sounds like jstyle has pretty much just made up this little section of a world that his car fits into and not many others. its like saying ....
you can have a different turbo but not the one you or you or you have
to me stock is how it came from the factory i also think that you car is not stock if it has upgraded diffs,gbox,air intake,exhaust,tyres and 1million other things.

jstyle has also said that is the quickest blah blah blah in aus if so then lets get him to get the australaisan record write or email someone who knows how we/he can do it. lets not all discuorage him because this is all about getting our mitsis quicker (then wrxs :lol: )
I now will state that i have the worlds quickest VR4 with forged cp pistons ported and polished head catch can,microtech blah blah blah if you dont have one of these specificate parts you are not in the running in my world :lol:
P.S lets leave it to the australaisin record people to see if it is a stock ecu
i also think the issue is not him haveing a fast "stock" car its posting it everywhere and people are getting annoyed with it

If you guys hadnt noticed this thread was split up from my WTB thread about an 070 housing when dre came in and said all this etc.. so i thought id split the topics so that there was a topic about dsm times. So actuallyy my thread was hijacked.. which lead to this thread being opened.. which has been hijacked by you guys.

and why dont you do as i have told you get it on paper and wipe it in everybodys face it can e done you just have to try

wouldn't aftermarket camshafts kinda make it a non-stock engine? it's been rebuilt too hasn't it?
Who have no idea what they are talking about it kind of makes it hard.. but then again you know why the 4G community in Aus is turning to **** and why people dont share their wealth of knowledge.. i think that the above person should look at what they have said.. and possibly have a look at their signature before they make another post. Maybe they will realise how childish of a level they have dropped to.
Also i never claimed stock motor.. i claim stock bottom end but the top has camshafts..
But hey.. as i said.. ill leave it to you guys to play and do whatever you like.. in the end of the day its still the internet and you keyboard warriors can run a muck and then ask urself why workshops charge you $150 an hour to work on your cars when people on the forums could help you out with advice.

*sigh*well ive read enough.
Jon has done well with what he has done.
Obviously he is excited about his efforts and should be congratulated.
Yes he has posted in a lot of spots and has gone a little overboard.
We all drive modified cars and will be just as excited when our rides do the same.
Please refrain from bagging each other out and instead a few pats on the back would be welcomed
