after a very disappointing pre-tune result at re-customs yesterday, i'm just wandering how much power you guys are putting out, and with what mods?

149 kilowasps, stock everything @ 8psi other than a pod filter and screamer pipe.

That was at RE customs as well, at their last dyno day afew months back.

I heard the dyno was running shitty on Sat night, what figures did you get and what were you aiming for??

164kw on about 17-18psi in 4th gear.. certainly wasn't expecting anything significant, but was hoping for a bit more than that.
car has a 20g on a stock motor with 272 cams. i'll be pushing for a bit more once i tune the ecmlink.

yeh dont get bogged down too much with 'low' power figures. You have to remember that 164kw atw is equivilent to about 200/210 silvia kw's.

if its not tuned it doest sould too low at all mate what afrs?

as an example look at a stock STi 205kws at fly and they dyno about 140kws - 160kws with basic exhaust mods, in theory you could count on being simular outputs,

To be honest I rarely use dyno figures as a bench mark, more so a tuning tool and comparison between mods (using the same dyno naturally)

And like DOUGMO said your A/F will make huge differences to output

Mine is VERY FAT in the big end! I'm sure at leaner A/F's I could add 10+ KWS easily

power to weight also a big part of how well your car will perform.

also have your cams been dialed in correctly? my mates car made 35 more kws with 2 degs put on the exhaust cam. It is all relative!! when it comes down to it!

My mates got same internal build but I went well above and beyond his mods and he cracked 198kw atw Dave & Chris that tune my car say it will be above 220kw atw but I'm not fussed to put it on a engine killer at all, Not really into dyno figures more into the design of the build & all the supporting mods around it to harness the goodness working as 1  brute power plant.

cams haven't been 'correctly' dialed/degree'd. i am going to look into it once i get my hands on a wbo2 kit but seems like a bit of a headache to do.
how crucial is dialing them in correctly? i don't have any bent valves so far
and does anyone have reccommended settings for the bc 272's?

mine got a remap and tune last week and is putting out just bellow 220kws at 19psi. Just a nice safe tune not pushing anything.

this is a 2.35lt with forged pistons but stock head, stock cams, stock plenum

td05-20g turbo and 560cc injectors.

full boost how ever is at 3200rpm and tapers off after about 6500 if not a little sooner.

i know its equivelent to a 300kw 2006 sti in a strait line so im happy. it's all about power to weight.

back in the day mine was making 155kw at the wheels with an exhaust, 18 psi and a bozz speed ecu.
Now its making over 480kw at the wheels with 28 psi and e85 :)
It made more (515kw @ 32 psi)but im running a stock gsr gearbox so we put the boost down
to keep the gearbox together.

It's amaziung to me that they have the strenght to hold that amount of power. Imagine the stress on the shafts and the bearings trying the hardest to keep it all together!
