chinese rip off gt style turbo, one of the guys on galantvr4.org.au was running one, and had some success with it, dunno what happened to it though, i think it is made from cheaper and heavier materials, can anyone else shed some more light on this

it just seems cheap for the amount of moving parts and research that goes into them...

might not last long on high boost..??

BennyGee and possible Fastfroggy have these. They are the SS Autochrome ones. Ben got his direct from SS Autochrome via their ebay shop for slightly less than that ebay add.

Ben's has been on the car for about a month now, running I think around 17-19 psi and there is an alarming amount of slop (approx. 2 mm) along the axis of the shaft. I don't know if that was there from new or not though. But at the moment, it is working, time will tell for how long though.

how can you tell the difference between a factory 16G and a copy 16G??

on a copy there are no numbers on the compressor housing, no markings at all except on the little plate which would usually say a number like 47198-014xx (genuine) or something like that. the copys have this is made by mr wangs chinese takeaway
