thats the plan i was originally going to take, but the safc can't control ignition can it?bazeng said:chip and the afc2
I'm not sure if it's compatible with Jspec ECU's... as far as I know, that product is only used in america, so I'm pretty sure its only compatible with the US ecus... :?:Street Surgeon said:The E-Manage is faaaaaaaaaaaar superior to an SAFC unit as you can adjust fuel, timing, compensate for injectors and larger air flow meters etc. You can also buy a map sensor and have it clamp the maf hz at it's limit, and then tune using the map sensor.
That being said you can just get an ostrich emulator and tunerpro rt and do it all for 179usd, with tunerpro rt you can adjust everything! Fuel maps, timing maps, injector sizes and deadtimes, fuelcut, no lift to shift limits, launch studderbox, reset octane values on startup, expanded fuel and timing maps (car runs SOOO much smoother), adjust for different maf sensors, you name it! Then have it run like it did from the factory, but tuned for your specific mods. All for cheaper than an SAFC.
All you'll have to do is socket your ECU and attatch the emulator, tune accordingly, then you can disconnect the cable and leave the ostrich chip in the ecu, or save the settings to a new eprom chip and put that in there. The bottom line is tunerpro rt and an ostrich can do infinitely more than any piggyback / chip combo and for less.
ive got the chip sitting next to me herebazeng said:are you going to chip it?
i thought on the chips u could adjust the ignition maps / fuel maps??
whats the price difference?
i like the safc2 because its cheap

let me know when the guy that does the honda chips for you comes in, i need to get my cpu socketed
and then we can chuck in the injectors and afm at the same time
but i need the safc/emanage for fine tuning a:f ratios, but i wont have anything to adjust timing with i guess
someone is sellign a used emanage for $300
safc2, is around 400 or so new
