E10 Fuel

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

I've run the Shell VPower Racing which is 100RON and 5% Ethanol in my Evo1, I ran 2 consecutive tanks fulls through it and I could notice the difference, ran quite well with it.

If it wasn't so expensive I would keep using it, but now I have my Citibank BP card, so its BP Ultimate all the way!

A guy in the US is running e85 in his galant... he replaced all the fuel hoses/lines etc, not because the galant can't tolerate the ethanol in the lines, but cause of all the crud in the lines being cleaned off.

So long as it has a good octane rating, the major reason to avoid it is damage to fuel lines, and mitsu lines are apparently fine for running ethanol.

I have seen quite a few cars come thru our workshop with rough running issues etc and the cause has been the platinum sparkplugs having a redish coating on them which has been caused by the ethanol fuel used, these are new cars with often less than 10,000kms on them. From seeing this I wouldnt recomend using ethanol blended fuel.

I have been running Shell's V-power Racing ( hate that name! ) for a few months now and I must admit that I have not noticed any ill effects after 2 oil changes and plug changes.
