early 4G63 differences

14b turbo
ECU = MD150427 (might be worth checking this)

and heres the really interesting part, it also says

4-bolt, 3.909 rear diff
W5M33-2-WQWK gearbox , which just happens to be a front LSD, close ratio box :shock:

if i were you i would be checking the numbers on the box to verify this, as it would make it quite a rare beast indeed !
 
yeah i just checked and it has 4 bolt rear axles, and it has a very close gearbox, but why did it not come with a 16g small, and eci multi intake!! :'(, didnt all 89 rs's come with that?
 
i think the 3.909 drivetrain was a factory option for RS's initially before they became standard across the range

Holy moly, now this is a true hybrid car.

It has facelift tail lights, spot lights and indicators, 4-bolt, front LSD (lucky bastard)

but no vented bonnet, longer bumper, ECI multi intake or 16g, 510cc's etc.

Very weird indeed :p

it may once long ago have had the vented bonnet. This is obviously not the original bonnet. However this bonnet is rooted as well :'( looks like a 3 year old was playing with a white out pen :'(
 
i dont think ur car ever had a vented bonnet as that came out later than 89. they are typically found on the cars with the small 16G, 510cc inj etc
 
You'll need to port your manifold and get rid of the fire ring setup to take full advantage of a big16g on your stock manifold. You might also want to look at a slightly larger turbo outlet pipe too?

Ah i meant longer opening in the bumper, with the extra vent for the longer intercooler (I think thats what i was supposed to say)
