does anybody know how to change the led's on them?

my screen get a little fuzzy when i turn my lights on. no fuzzy, but lines through it.

I installed an EVO climate control system to a mate's CC Lancer coupe just yesterday and it did the exact same thing you are talking about. Everything is working, but the lights on it are very dim and there are red lines across the screen which stand out. We are gonna hook up a different head unit on Tuesday to see if the head unit is faulty. When we figure it out in a few days, I'll let you know. Cheers

Yup, the second head unit lights up perfectly. Try another to see if it is your problem as well...

I honestly dont think so. You'll have to keep your eyes open for frontcuts and people selling bits from them to obtain another climate control module  Just like all electrics, one day they are bound to phuck up lol  You could try taking it to an electronics whiz but unfortunately they may very well charge you for more than what you can pick up another module for anyhow  No harm in asking someone though

ahh dam....i dun wanna buy another one lol

is there a way to replace the lights?
replace the screen when the man sitting on the chair your up shit creek but for the back lights to the operational buttons remove the climate control head unit and on the back recessed in are globe holders one each side the undo half / 1/4 a turn and holder comes out with the globe take it to auto elect or rice boy shop and buy replacements for it.

is there still no way to fix this problem?

it works nice when its night but at daylight i cant see anything on it

just go to the wrecker, rip out a lancer speedo cluster and use the globes from that.

Just to clarify are your headlights turned on during the day when you cant see the display? There is some kind of auto dimming it does when you switch on the head lights, I notice mine is difficult to read in broad daylight if I have my head lights turned on, turned off its fine.

i have an Evo3 (RHD) and im from Germany so just going to the wrecker and getting parts is and will be a dream for me :=)

i cant see anything at daylight and it doesnt matter if the lights are turned on or not, but i was yesterday night in the car and you can see everything fine :(

i have the car since 4 days now

Ahhhh, I was just thinking that you might have your lights on all day or something. At night do you notice a difference in the luminosity from the display when the headlights/parkers are on or off? I am pretty sure by standard it gets dimmed when you turn on the parkers.

Hi m8,
i made 2 pictures, one with lights turned on and one withouht lights...

daylight pictures will follow, but today it is rainy here, it might make a difference than at sunny weather.

i also was yesterday at the wrecker and saw a Galant of 7th Generation (E50) and it had nearly the same Unit...

however i dont want to replace the whole unit, if theres a way of fixing this, ill do that (soldering isnt the problem).

I just need a right tipp :D

Meanwhile, i also replaced the broken bulbs against 12v LEDs :)
Greetings

Hi people,

i bought a Galant Unit and this is what i did for a working Display:

removed the Panel with the VFD from the Galant Unit
removed the Panel with the VFD from the EVO Unit

removed the three switches from the EVO Panel
soldered the three switches on the Panel of the Galant

soldered the Galant Panel with Evo switches to the EVO Unit
soldered the Evo Panel without Evo switches to the Galant Unit

tested both and the Evo unit is working great now, i think the problem is on some parts of the Display Panel and the Display itself isnt broken or burnt

But the pleasure didnt last long, my climate lost all its refrigerant yesterday and it turned out to be that its the climate compressor :(

However the new compressor is on the way to me :=)

Greetings
kaya

these come in fto/gto dont they? if so they'll fit in lancers wont they

nah. fto uses CE climate controls and GTO ones are completely different in design (electronically similar though)

Good stuff Kaya. I repaired mine as well. But in my case, I just changed my entire VFD pcb to another working unit. Get as many spares as you can! These vfd's dont last very long.

oh well jeah, you probably mean the same like i described with panel (panel=pcb)
i have only changed the one in the front, ill make photos tomorrow, from the Galant unit so you can better understand what i mean :)
