I'd prefer if you didn't oscar... to be honest. I'm sort of eyeing it off atm.

Ok, I went to inspect it today. The guy ran his mouth about the car nonstop and told me all about it (stuff I already knew mind you). Seemed pretty ok, claimed he was going overseas in 6 months and that he was going to give it away to a mate who's down on his luck if it doesn't sell.

The cooler is fucked, it took the brunt of the impact from the accident. It has 3.5 inch inlet/outlet on the rear of the cooler and some seriously flared stock pipework running to it. The foggies have been removed and the indicator wiring looms weren't connected.

There was something i've never seen on a vr4 jammed next to the aircon fan but the aircon fan/everything else wasn't actually damaged. It has SERIOUS lifter problems but doesn't seem to blow any smoke. Owner claims it had a freshen up at beninica (spelling??) recently in terms of kms, also claims it was hardly driven and would be lucky to make it to the shops and back since then.

Interior/exterior need a serious detail. Exterior will need some paint in places but is generally ok. There's no rust in the chassis, the chassis rails weren't bent, engine mounts were fine. Gearbox trouble is restricted to normal 1st/2nd synchro being worn, but the shifter bushings are SCREWED and will need replacing. Interior is otherwise in one piece and pretty much fine, even the boost gauge works properly.

He made an apology to me for being short on time with dre and offered to spend the whole night going over it, comp testing, tearing bits off etc with me, cept I had the GF with me and didn't have the time. (oops)

Guards were perfectly straight, will need some very minor hits with a hammer on the passenger corner to realign ONE bolthole where the bolthead has been sheared off, take me about 5 minutes. Indicators are still good, radiator support panel is thoroughly screwed.

Thanks heaps for your post dre, and i'll probably take you up on the bar. I have a bonnet sitting in my garage but its silver not that that will matter I think, but everything helps.

I'm going to wait out the ebay auction and offer the guy 2500 I think and see how I go.

Did you notice how the radiator support panel didnt match the damge to the front bumper???

I take it you managed to take the bumper off??

how did the oil relocation kit and oil cooler look? ok???

The bumper didn't come off, I didn't need it to. Being previously experienced in panelbeating helps to pick the damage to be honest.

Both the oil cooler and the 5 inch thick intercooler are completely screwed. The oil cooler doesn't leak, but it's bent pretty severely (ahh aircraft grade stuff apparently) so will need replacing for peace of mind. The lines to and from the oil cooler are pretty dodgy looking so they'll get braided I guess when the cooler is replaced.

The intercooler is like 5 inches thick and a truck core with 3 1/2 inch inlet/outlet on the REAR. It's not leaking as per such, but it hit the radiator pretty hard when it was punched int he front and pulled the rad support backwards a bit which bent the whole thing. Looks like he's done some rudimentary hammer hits to get the bonnet to close... some stuff missing, some telltale signs.

The intercooler and pipework all have to be replaced as well.
