ECU Pin Swaps

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Can't you log your WB straight into evoscan via the laptop? Like how I showed you I was doing it in the pajero.

Evoscan doesnt have support for the PLX gauge yet. It's in the dropdown menu but just says "work in progress". So I'm going to have to wire it up myself.

Bummer, for some reason I thought you were using the innovate gear. Never mind.
I had a look at the Innovate gear biut went with the PLX stuff due to cost (Innovate wanted like $70 just for postage iirc), and I preferred the look of it. And the fact I can hook up additional modules but still use the DM-6 gauge.

Does the plx have 0-5v signal wire like my aem has for logging?
Damn. That explains why the rear 02 and heater circuit are greyed out on the Evo 7 ECU pinout.

The PLX module does have a 0-5V linear output. AFR's are from 10 to 20. If I cant use the rear o2 what other 5V inputs are there? Only one I can think of would be the centre diff input, but I dont have a clue if it would work or not.

Get com port to usb adapter and use AEM external wideband input on evoscan. AEM is 0-5v signal output too. I don't think evoscan knows what your wideband is. If you log different to what the guage says just modify formula in evoscan to get it as close as posible to match your wideband guage.

I'll look into it, thanks :)

Will probably go SD eventually anyway seeing as though I'll need the MAP sensor to log boost. Which means all I'd need would be that IAT sensor, which is cheap and easy. I'd need the 90550001 Tephra V7 though wouldn't I?

the aem guage instruction give you the afr formula but it's a very std output 10 afr is 0 v and 20 afr is 5v oh and it's a lenear scale

no it's lambda * something. as i said it's in the user manual they supply

aem go so far as to give you a table with the volage you should expect to see for EVERY afr between 10 and 20
for multiple fuels gas lpg methanol and ethanol

i know because i have that book for mine

Fuel tank temp? Can't find that on my pinout list.

If I swap to SD doesn't the MAP sensor go to the baro input? Or would it go to the MAF signal pin
it goes to map sensor. You still use baro as far as I know. But what's the point of going SD. There is nothing wrong with AFM. SD is not defined yet, there is still small jitter that you can't get rid off.
"There is a very small issue with the existing speed density implementation that causes an ever-so-slight jitter while cruising around 2000-2500rpm. The final fix is still up in the air"

Well I figured once I had a MAP sensor to log boost all I'd need would be the IAT sensor to go SD. But if it doesnt work very nicely then I'll stick with the MAF. MAF is probably better anyway, keeps the engine bay looking more stock, which gets less attention.
