ECU question

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

yes it can...but how well requires you give more information on what engine you want to run...turbo or N/A and what the ecu is from....turbo or N/A.

then tell wether the ecu is a straight plug in....

ECU is from stock 4g93 DOHC Colt GTI 1996, and engine I would like to put it on is N/A 4g63 from 2-gen eclipse 6-bolt.
Wiring loom is same in both engines so it would be plug and play regarding the connectors on ECU.

I have spare 4g63 engine and spare Colt GTI without engine. I'll try it and let you know. It would be good to see will 4g63 with oe lower bottom handle 8000rpm
Thank you all for info

it might handle it a couple of times...or may got bang. stick to the redline on the standard tacho

Dunno. But I read that the 1g cams are slightly bigger than the 2g. Not sure how this might relate to our e1-3 cams.
I would imagine the 93 cams are smaller again as the engine itself is a smaller capacity

93 cams are smaller off course, but I'm interested in time and lift of cams. If 63 cams are opend for longer then there is good possibility that piston will hit valve in tdc. If they have simillar lift and timing then it will be possible to run 4g63 up to 8000 rpm
